Installation, setup and use of the universal Windows desktop widget.

Installation and requirements

Taymio is Windows-only. Windows 7, 10 and 11 are supported, with x64 and x86 installers.

  1. Open the download page and select your Windows architecture.
  2. Run TaymioWidget and complete setup.
  3. Open Taymio Universal Widget from Start or its shortcut.

First launch and controls

Switch pages with the mouse wheel or page indicators. Double-click an empty widget area to open Settings.

  • General: language, time zone, theme, size and Windows startup.
  • Clock: time format, seconds, date and system information.
  • Placement: indicator side and Premium page order and visibility.
  • The timer remembers its last duration; the initial value is five minutes.

Widget pages

Clock

Digital or analog display, date, weekday, seconds and 12/24-hour formats.

Calendar

Current month, adjacent dates and month navigation.

Timer

Mouse-wheel input, start, pause, reset and custom alarm sound.

Stopwatch

Start, pause and reset elapsed time.

Calculator

Basic arithmetic in a compact page.

Radio streams

Direct audio stream URLs, volume and sleep timer. Premium required.

PC shutdown

Scheduled computer shutdown. Premium required.

Themes and placement

Free includes standard themes, adjustable size, screen-corner placement and Windows startup. Premium adds advanced themes, opacity, free placement, page order, hidden pages and restoring the last page.

Adding a radio stream

  1. Open Settings → Radio streams.
  2. Enter a name and direct HTTP or HTTPS audio-stream URL.
  3. Save settings and open Radio streams.

Regular web-page URLs cannot be played. Availability depends on the provider and your connection.

Premium activation

  1. Create an account and obtain a key in your profile.
  2. Open Settings → About.
  3. Enter the key and select Activate.

A key is intended for one device. See the License page for details.

Logs and troubleshooting

The exact diagnostic-file path is shown under About. It is normally %LocalAppData%\Taymio\last-run.log.

  • Inspect the last log entries if the widget will not start.
  • Check the connection, VPN and direct URL if a stream stops.
  • If the issue remains, contact support with the steps and log.
